![]() You can use that VC in other areas of the game, but the primary use for it is in My Career. Even when you’re not playing My Career mode, if you’re playing NBA 2K13, you’re adding to your VC bank. The VC is the currency system in NBA 2K13 and it can be earned by playing any and every mode in the game. The only way to do that is through the accumulation of Virtual Coins. You’ll have some natural abilities, but to become a beast you’ll need to build your skills. You can choose to be a natural athlete, shooter, distributor, post-up guy, and other profiles specific to the position you choose. Your player will start with a skill-based profile. Here is the blueprint for creating a monster My Player. There are tips and best practices to follow to become a force in the virtual NBA, and I have the goods for you. Each position carries a different dynamic, and that is a major part of the challenge and appeal. So when you pass the ball, you have to trust your teammates. Choose your spots wisely. The big difference between My Player and traditional play is that you only control your guy. Sure, you get a pretty good bump up by making a handful of steals in the game, but you are also punished for those ticky-tacky reach-in calls. ![]() I was also able to play some pretty good help defense without letting my counterpart go off on me.Īnother tip is to lay off the steal button every once in a while. Luckily as a point guard, I was guarding lesser scoring threats than, say, if I were a shooting guard or small forward. The trick here is to not let the player you are shadowing score by whatever means necessary. I don’t know if it was my skill on the sticks or the kind of player I whipped up, but I was able to handle anyone I guarded rather easily. I made sure I took as many as I could throughout my career, which finally took off in Phoenix once Nash (finally) retired.Īnother way I was able to cement my role as NBA elite was by playing great defense. The biggest boosts I received were by hitting last-second and game-winning shots. Sure, you can’t take every shot and get pats on the back from your teammates, or the game, but take all the important shots and it will reward you handsomely. The more I played like Allen Iverson, the more I was rewarded. I did get a cool billboard proclaiming, “The Future is Here.”Īnother fishy aspect about being a point guard in My Player is it sometimes rewards you for being a bad teammate. Instead, I got stuck in Phoenix behind Steve Nash. I would have been in the starting lineup as a rookie. In hindsight, Indy would have been the best place for me. I chose to say all the right things to the Phoenix Suns and Denver Nuggets, but purposely tanked my interview with the Indiana Pacers. ![]() It’s tricky because you can choose from four different answers to the questions a general manager will pose to you. The pre-draft interview process is also paramount. What also got my baggy shorts in a bunch was the fact the ball-hogging teammate of mine who shot 22 percent from the floor was drafted ahead of me. ![]() But when I am standing wide open in the corner for an easy 3-pointer, and my uncoordinated teammates decide to drive the lane into the teeth of the defense, how is it my fault? What also hurt my rating was calling for the ball too much. ![]() I could have had 10 or more assists had my post-player teammates make a stinkin’ layup. I scored a game-high 18 points, but only had a “C” teammate grade, which was frustrating to no end. I played a fairly solid game in the amateur All-Star Game that kicks off your career. I found the decisions I made early in my career came back to haunt me. ![]()

![]() ![]() I'm not sure about Video Comics and America Goes Bananaz though because they were originally QUBE shows. They definitely still own Pinwheel and presumably Nickel Flicks, By The Way, and Hocus Focus as well. And it does seem the rights for their shows during the Warner years did transfer over to Viacom. I doubt we'll be seeing either though, especially the latter. They dropped the acquired shorts from Pinwheel sometime in 1989 so they could release it on Paramount+ like that (although I personally wouldn't like it as much that way), and some of what was on Nickel Flicks is in the public domain. They actually could do Pinwheel and Nickel Flicks to an extent. Nick didn't have much of a budget back then. I think the only two that weren't were America Goes Bananaz (which I'm just realizing isn't on this list for some reason) and Video Comics. Yeah, a lot of the shows they aired in their first year were taking pre-existing content and putting an original framing device around them. When Nickelodeon was sold to Viacom, did that include the rights for these shows or does Warner Bros still retain them? I don't know, but that could be another factor in their non-appearance over the years.ĩ:30:28 GMT theCarbonFreeze said:With Paramount+ bringing Eureeka's Castle and a bunch of other lost media "holy grails" into the mainstream again, I decided to check if some of these might have been saved also. Further complicating matters is that Nickelodeon used to be owned by Warner Bros when a lot of these first-generation programs were airing. It's almost certainly a combination of copyright for the licensed footage, plus the (correct) assumption that no one will actually watch them that's holding up their release on Paramount+. They still absolutely ought to be saved, but I won't exactly be marathoning them if they do. They would be of no interest to anyone today except for their historical value. Most of these programs sound like they were just glorified clip shows of old film serials and recycled cartoons. With Paramount+ bringing Eureeka's Castle and a bunch of other lost media "holy grails" into the mainstream again, I decided to check if some of these might have been saved also. I don't feel like indexing every show, the majority of them are virtually non-existent regarding footage.Īlso, I'm not a member on the Classic Nick Shows tracker so if someone else is and can tell us what they've got from this era that'd be dope PopClips - One episode is on YouTube split into chunks with some missing audio, as well as bumpers and clips Hocus Focus - Short clips on YouTube available Video Comic Book - Two episodes found (Apparently 70 segments were made, did this even have a budget?) Nickel Flicks - No footage found (what happened to the pre-taped segments? Destroyed?)īy The Way - No footage OR EVEN A SHOW SUMMARY found We don't even have episode counts for the majority of these. I also highly doubt the masters exist for the majority of these programs considering their age, and if they do whether they'd be within the Viacom vaults or in someone's house in Columbus. "The song became Ronstadt's first hit when it was recorded in 1967 with the Stone Poneys," the Post reports.I don't expect much of a hunt for these as I presume most members here (myself included) are way too young to have ever seen any of these shows live, but a remarkable amount of Nickelodeon's launch line-up, besides Pinwheel, seems to be near totally lost.
